President Ramaphosa participated in the climate change and energy transition, digital and transport roundtable on Thursday, 17 February, and co-chaired the roundtable with President Paul Kagame of Rwanda on health systems and vaccine production today, Friday, 18 February 2022.
On climate change, the President emphasised that the foundation of partnership needed to be a shared recognition that each country has the right to follow its own development pathway towards shared objectives, such as keeping global aggregate temp rise below 1.5 degrees.
With regard to the health crisis facing the continent, the World Health Organisation announced at the Summit that Egypt, Kenya, Nigeria, Senegal and Tunisia as countries will receive the technology needed to produce mRNA vaccines on the continent
