It’s been one year since the first vaccine was given in SA, Here’s how many are vaccinated now.

When Covid 19 first appeared the world went into a standstill, with Cities and Countries going into lockdown and many people dying. However quite quickly, a vaccine was developed and the world started to recover. When that vaccine arrived in South Africa it got a different reaction, with many people worried about whether they should take it or not. One year later let’s see what happened.

A year has passed :

Yesterday the National Department of Health Facebook page reported that it had been one year since the first vaccine had been administered. Between than and now twenty million people have been taken the vaccine. While that seems like a large number, we have to look at it in the perspective of other facts. So here’s the truth about that number.

The reality of the situation :

According to Wikipedia the estimated number of people in South Africa is around sixty million. If this is true than it means that only one third of the population has been vaccinated.

With less than half of South Africa vaccinated, it leaves us with the question of whether we are truly safe from Covid 19 and whether more people should be vaccinated. Heres my opinion.

My opinion :

The choice of whether to be vaccinated or not remains with you, you are free to make that decision on your own. However if you have not been vaccinated you may want to find out why that is. Recheck your facts and information and maybe this time you will find a different conclusion. Personally, it’s been over six months since I’ve been vaccinated and I don’t feel any negative effects.

What do you think of these statistics and numbers, do you think we are succeeding in stopping the virus or not. Tell me in the comments section and follow for more lifestyle news as it happens.
