Besides writing for Hub, I also have a side gig on YouTube where I also make money. But I will be the first person to tell you that it is not easy – there was a point in time when it was, but now since everyone discovered how to make money on YouTube, the competition is tough.
Just like on Google search, you will find that on YouTube if your video is not among the first few results – even if it is the best YouTube video ever, nobody will watch it. And when people do not watch the video, nobody watches the adverts on the video and you do not make money. If it does not make money, you also find that the Youtube algorithm does not promote it to people to watch.
So how do you fix this problem?
Just like on Google search, it comes down to putting proper keywords on your videos. This is where people get things wrong. YouTube is still a search engine like Google and if your video does not have the right keywords that match a certain search term – it will not show up when people search for that thing.
How to rank video on YouTube
So before I do my videos, I actually do a lot of keyword research so that when I upload my videos, they are among the first videos that people see when they search for something related to that video. And the more people click on, the more YouTube recommends the video to other people and that is how you actually grow your YouTube channel and actually make more money.
I know many creators just want to make their videos and post them and not bother about things like keyword research, which is how I ended up finding a keyword tool called Tubebuddy. Tubebuddy comes with many handy tools to help you gather keywords and other metrics to ensure your video ranks.
I first used their free version, but I have found better success with the $6 and $7 packages.
There are also many videos on YouTube to teach you how to use Tubebuddy if you are a slow learner and do not know how to use it. If you are a YouTuber and trying to do keyword research manually, this is an easier way.
I hope I have helped someone and now you know how I actually rank my videos better on YouTube.
