According to the South African Department of Health there are currently over 7.7 million people living with HIV/AIDS in the country, and unfortunately this means that South Africa currently has the highest HIV/AIDS infection rate in the world, but there is now possibly some good news for everyone who is currently living with HIV/AIDS, as there are some reports of a possible cure.
According to multiple reports, an American woman who was previously living with HIV/AIDS is reported now confirmed to be cured after receiving some ground breaking treatment, it is reported that the woman in question was cured after a successful ‘stem cell transplant’ that gave her natural resistance to the virus that causes HIV/AIDS.
However, unfortunately there is some bad news as it is also reported that the ‘stem cell transplant’ method that was used to cure the woman is very invasive which means that it is not suitable for most people with HIV/AIDS.
