Huawei is one of the biggest tech companies in the world, and also one of the leading smartphone producers in the world. The is based in china, and has a global foot print in almost every country in the world, except the USA after the former president Donald Trump sanctioned them, and claiming that they were stealing sensitive information for the Chinese government.
As you can see, they are not strangers to controversy and the has been flourishing never the less. In South Africa we have never had said problems with the tech giant until now, due to unconstitutional labour practices.
It is reported that the South Africa department of labour has opened a case in the courts today after an audit that was conducted last year 2021 had found that the has been employing over 90% of foreign nationals, instead of South African citizens. This kind of practice is currently under a lot of scrutiny at the moment, with more and more citizens calling out employers for hiring more foreign individuals then citizens because of the cheap labour.
This is currently a developing story and more details on it will be shared as they come out, take a look at the below screen shots to get a better understanding of the situation and how it probably unfold as time goes by.
