Talk about moments when the love and unity within Ghanaians peaked, there is no way you are going to exempt the era of the “respected” black stars. They rose and fought like warriors to push the name of the country to places. It is sad as to how they are now struggling and have lost their grip.
The Black Stars is no more like it used to be, those amazing days are no more. The only positive thing we can get out of those days is the fact that, they have been boldly scripted in the archives of the country’s shelves. We can revisit those lovely moments whenever we want to and this is exactly what I am doing.
This article is going to see me talk about some special Ghanaian goal celebrations which gained recognition in the world. Without wasting much time, let us stroll through them one after the other;
1. Stephen Appiah’s “big mind” celebration
Steven Tornado Appiah in the 2006 World Cup invented this celebration after scoring an amazing penalty. Indeed those moments were golden. Kindly let me know in the comment section if you witnessed this moment.
2. Asamoah Gyan’s spectacular dance
Asamoah Gyan is obviously the Ghanaian football dance god. He would get opponents bitter with his spectacular dance moves whenever he scored and trust me, he was a goal machine.
3. Agogo’s head dance
Today’s kids won’t realize how good Junior Agogo was. He was a goal poacher who made defenders tremble. Well, he invented this beautiful dance.
4. Michael Essien’s kangaroo dance
To those who watched the CAN 2008, you will realize that this dance became viral after the midfield maestro exhibited it. It was called the kangaroo dance and it gained dominance such that, Philipa Baafi made it an official dance for her “go high” gospel song.
