A mother of four named Yaa Frema who is married to Kwaku Baah gave money to her husband to purchase a plot of land to build a house for the family but her husband doesn’t want her to see the land documents. The woman is a trader who sells plantain chips at the roadside and her husband is a mason. Frema got GHC4,900 from her business, she informed her husband about her intentions of buying a plot of land and building a house for the family.
Her husband supported her decision, fortunately, he got some of the lands where he has been working. Kwaku collected the GHC4,900 from his wife and went to buy the land. Frema later requested the land documents but her husband told her that they are not done with it so she should have patience. Later the husband told her that he is the man of the house so he was supposed to keep the documents. Two weeks later Frema went to their land with her husband to inspect it.
She then gave GHC800 to the husband to buy a trip of sand to start the foundation of the building. It has been three years since they bought the land but the woman has not set her eyes on the land documents. The man even told her unless after his death before he will see those documents. According to the woman, her husband doesn’t take care of the children, he even has other children with different women. It is Frema who has been selling the plantain chips to cater for herself and the children. The worst part is that they don’t know the whereabouts of her husband for the past three months.
