US based Ghanaian, Kevin Taylor has made a new revelation concerning the E-levy that may seem surprising to many.
According to Kevin Taylor, the government has brought up a new strategy that will ensure a smooth and easy passage of the E-levy in Parliament.
He explained his point by saying that the NPP are going for an injunction against Honorable James Gyakye Quayson, the MP for Assin North. This injunction is said to prevent the MP from entering the Parliament house on Thursday to take part in the voting. He added that the passage of this bill will be done on Thursday after the MP is prevented from entering Parliament due to the injunction.
He made this revelation today on his Facebook Page.
This comes after a resident of Assin North, Michael Ankomah-Nimfah filed a parliamentary election petition at the Cape Coast High Court challenging the eligibility of Quayson to be an MP. He contended that the MP was not eligible on the basis that at the time he(MP) filed his nomination to contest as a parliamentary candidate, he was still a citizen of Canada.
As at now the E-levy in Parliament has not been passed. The majority side in Parliament agree to pass the bill but the minority side thinks otherwise.
