The Ghanaian media personality and former co-host of Ladies Circle on TV3 Ghana, Abena Korkor has used her official Instagram page to reveal that, the National Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the Director-General of the National Lottery Authority, Sammy Awuku has filed a case against her. Abena Korkor revealed a WhatsApp chat between her and Dr Yankson of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) requesting her presence at the CID department today, 1st February 2022 at 10:00 am.
In the WhatsApp conversation, Dr Yankson revealed that Sammy Awuku has charged Abena Korkor For Offensive Conduct. Offensive conduct conducive to breaches of the peace is described in section 207 as: “Any person who in any public place or at any public meeting uses threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour with intent to provoke a breach of the peace or where-by a breach of the peace is likely to be occasioned”.
This indicates that Sammy Awuku believes Abena Korkor’s charges of having an intimate relationship with him are all lies and that the public is being misled. Meanwhile, Abena Korkor still stands by her words that she had a sexual relationship with Sammy Awuku. In view of this, Abena Korkor has also decided to file a case against Sammy Awuku for the following charges:
1. For allowing Afia Akoto and John Boadu to publish false information about her on the MyJoyOnline platform that all she said about him (Sammy Awuku) were lies.
2. Second, for defaming her and labelling her a psychopath while both Sammy Awuku and she are aware of their sexual relationship.
Meanwhile, Abena Korkor is seeking a good lawyer to assist her filed a case against Sammy Awuku. This is what she wrote on her official Instagram page:
“Please who can help me file a case against Sammy Awuku”.
Some Ghanaians after coming across this post stated that when did the CID start inviting people via WhatsApp. Some Ghanaians advised her not to honour the invitation until formal inviting is done. This is because the last time they check, the Criminal Investigation Department of the Ghana Police Service doesn’t invite people through WhatsApp.
