Mugoiri Girls’ high school principal Susan Mundia has broken silence over claims that 17 form one students were suspended from the school for taking two lunch servings and ordered to pay 10,500 Kenyan shillings fine to be used in cooking a special meal for all the students.
According to an update by Jelani MK, Principal Susan Mundia allegedly distanced herself from the suspension, stating that the 17 girls were sent home by the teacher on duty and she had nothing to do with it.
It’s unclear whether the 17 girls have already gone back to school given that the suspension letter indicated that they should report on 25th January 2022.
The letter had the school’s official stamp and was signed by the deputy principal.
Many Kenyans who saw the letter online were angered by the unfair suspension and fine. Most suggested that the government should take a step against the school’s administration.
