According to Lawyer Kow Essuman, the National Democratic Congress representatives and Minorities in Parliament are not against the E-levy policy but rather acting due to political differences.
He claims the Finance Minister together with the New Patriotic Party representatives and the Majority in Parliament have organized several consultations about the policy and also there has been some reduction as compared to the proposed 1.75 per cent but they still don’t want to accept it.
He claims after a clear checkup, he thinks the Minority in Parliament are doing what they are doing due to politics but not in the interest of Ghanaians or the country
He said; “The sad thing about the vigorous opposition to the e-levy by the Minority is that it is purely POLITICAL and not in the interest of Ghana or ordinary Ghanaians. After all these consultations and reduction in the rate, they are still opposed to it?”
According to Lawyer Kow Essuman, the Minority in Parliament are rejecting due to politics and not the interest of Ghanaians or the country.
