Kumasi Aprade police of the Ashanti Regional Police Command is on the lookout for two connection men for their fraudulent activities. The two; from the right, Kwesi Ofori and Boakye Frank, have taken to their heels after taking GH¢62,000 from two people to assist them on visas to travel abroad.Â
Boakye Frank, known as London Man in Kumasi Aprade, is a 31-year-old taxi driver at Kumasi. Boakye, a former resident of London, has been operating as a taxi driver ever since he returned from London in 2004.Â
It is with his previous stay in London, residents of Tomtom, a settlement community with Aprade named him London Man. Boakye is alleged to have helped two residents of Aprade move to London on the 27 February 2020 because of his connection to some alleged travel and tour groups.Â
It was based on that 27 February 2020 visa deal he helped two men acquire, that made some residents of Tomtom rely on him for assistance to travel abroad. Opanin Sasu Philip, a retired teacher and Wiliams Ankomah, all residents of Tomtom in the Aprade township, had given an amount of Thirty-One Thousand Cedis each to London Man to help them with the acquisition of visas.Â
Opanin Sasu, 67, acting on behalf of his 21-year-old son, made contacts with London Man on 24 August 2021 and made full payment of Thirty-One Thousand Cedis to London Man on 30 August to help his son relocate to London. London Man (Boakye Frank) relocated from Aprade on 26 December 2021 when Williams Ankomah also made his full payment on 4 September 2021.
London Man
London Man together with Kwesi Ofori, handed a printed fake visa on A4 sheets and handed them to the victims; Opanin Sasu’s son and Williams Ankomah on 21 September 2021 before relocating out of Aprade on the 26 December 2021. The two victims; Opanin Sasu’s son and Williams Ankomah bound to leave Ghana on the 28 January 2022 on their fake visas, were updated on the status of the visas when Pastor Amoako Debra, a pastor with Christ Anointing Ministries received a revelation on Opanin Sasu’s son.Â
The man of God; Pastor Debrah, warned Opanin Sasu of a calamity befall his house on 27 January 2022 and it was then, they got to know the visas which were given by London Man was fake. In reporting the news to the Aprade Police yesterday evening, Opanin Sasu claimed that the Thirty One Thousand Cedis which was paid in full to London Man (Boakye Frank) and his counterpart Kwesi Ofori, was to cover all expenses their flight tickets.Â
We have been searching everywhere for them but hasn’t been able to find them, Opanin Sasu said in his joint report with Williams Ankomah to the Aprade Police yesterday evening. The Aprade police have begun investigations into the case but all efforts to trace London Man (Boakye Frank) and Kwesi Ofori has proven unsuccessful after their phone numbers failed to go through.Â
The two are suspected to be hiding within the Eastern Region but it’s unclear which town they are hiding in.
