A discussion on the E-levy turned into a comparison of projects between the NPP and NDC on TV3’s The Keypoints. On the panel today was Rickets Hagan, former Cape Coast South MP and Stephen Amoah, MP for Nhyiaeso. They joined host, Dzifa Gheho Bampoe to discuss the matter. both NPP and NDC panelist disagreed on the passage of the levy.
According to Rickets Hagan, the NPP despite the funds that the NDC left behind are still unable to develop the country. He cited a number of abandoned projects neglected by the NPP and funds John Mahama left. He noted that the NPP have been so corrupt that they couldn’t even build a single school. Stephen Amoah tried to interject but the host told him to hold on.
When it finally got to Hon. Amoah’s time to talk he explained that the government had added more classrooms to the schools. He noted that the NDC left no monies for the government. Rickets Hagan injected and mentioned a number of funds the NDC left. Stephen Amoah got furious and said he will repay and also interject when Rickets Hagan was giving his submission. Indeed, he did just that and kept interjecting. However, he was prompted by the host to stop.
Hon. Amoah wasn’t pleased and asked why the host was being unfair. He cautioned the host that many people are watching and can see the unfair allocation of time given to him by the host. The host apologized and asked Stephen to make his point but he refused. At a point, Stephen Amoah refused to continue the show and it took Rickets Hagan saying he will make use of the time then before the former responded that he will now respond and use his time.
Stephen Amoah called for a debate between himself and Rickets Hagan over achievements of the NPP and NDC. He explained that despite the struggles of the NPP they are far better than the things of the NDC did.
