Majority Of Ghanaians Don’t Want The E-Levy At This Point – John Dumelo Tells Government

Ghanaian actor cum politician, John Dumelo has said to government that Majority of Ghanaians don’t want the E-levy now.

John Dumelo reacting to the Member of Parliament for Nsawam-Adoagyiri, Hon. Frank Annoh-Dompreh’s tweet on E-Levy said.

According to Hon. Frank Annoh-Dompreh, he said E-Levy seeks to tackle youth employment and build social and digital infrastructure.

Hon. Frank Annoh-Dompreh in continuation said the E-Levy is a proportional tax which also accounts for low income earners.

He added that Ghanaians should help the government in the implementation of the E-Levy which will found the very things needed.

Hon. Frank Annoh-Dompreh’s tweet reads;

“The e-levy seeks to provide funding to tackle youth employment and build social and digital infrastructure. It is a proportional tax which also accounts for low income earners. Let’s support government to implement this tax to fund the very things we need as a people 🇬🇭”

However, the Ghanaian actor, John Dumelo doesn’t agree with the Member of Parliament as he adds his voice to the E-Levy conversation.

Mr Dumelo says majority of Ghanaians don’t want the E-Levy at this point. He advised that government should cut down expenditure, seal corruption loopholes, reduce salaries of the president, ministers and appointees.

He said there should be a sacrifice first then maybe Ghanaians can talk about the E-Levy.

Dumelo writes;

“Majority of Ghanaians don’t want the E-levy at this point. Cut down your expenditure, seal corruption loopholes, reduce salaries of the President,ministers and government appointees etc. Let’s see some sacrifice first, then maybe, just maybe we can talk about the e-levy. 🙏🏿”
