The kenyan social media space is awash with rumors, half-truths and verified reports on Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga’s trip to Mt Kenya this weekend.
As shared on multiple platforms, sections of the crowd started trooping their way out of the Azimio la umoja movement rally that is currently ongoing in the region that is perceived to be deputy president William Ruto’s United Democratic Alliance party.
And now, Murang’a county senator Irungu Kang’ata who is also eyeing the gubernatorial seat has come out to finally break his silence on the Reports of mass walkouts on ODM party leader Raila Odinga.
Writing alongside a photo showing people walking out of Raila Odinga’s rally, Kang’ata stated that the Mt Kenya people are peaceful and that they don’t use violence to pass across a point.
He says that the people decided to use their feet and walk away from Raila Odinga’s Azimio la umoja event because they don’t buy into the political message.
“In Murang’a, we don’t throw stones. We vote with our feet,” Kang’ata stated in the message.
