The speaker of parliament, Alban Bagbin has recently sparked massive stir, debates and arguments across all social media platforms after he boldly sent another ‘brilliant’ message to NPP MPs over the most anticipated 2022 budget containing the E-levy as parliament resumes on Tuesday, January 25, 2022.
Even though the new Patriotic Party’s MPs are looking forward to convincing the house to implement the most anticipated E-levy by highlighting its economic benefits to the country, the minority on the other hand agrees otherwise as they’ve urged the speaker to reject the 2022 budget containing the E-levy.
With respect to this, the Speaker of parliament, Alban Bagbin has recently come out to express massive concerns over the continuous chaos in parliament as a result of the most anticipated E-levy aside sending another brilliant message to the majority in the house as parliament resumed on Tuesday, January 25, 2022.
Speaking in a recent press conference sites by TV3 Network, the speaker of parliament, Alban Bagbin made it clear that, the only way to resolve the unexpected chaos in parliament over the most anticipated E-levy was that, the majority should come into consensus with the minority through dialogue, consultation and collaboration.
Alban Bagbin later highlighted that, even though the majority in parliament are putting all hands on deck in other to get the independent candidate on their side to help implement the E-levy, he [Alban Bagbin] was willing to enforce the law in the house to favor Ghanaian citizens.
“They both belong to the same party and cannot hold the position of the deputy speaker of parliament. It is this independent member who was a former member of the party in power that they want to draw their strength from. I am the speaker; I don’t take part in decisions but it is my duty to enforce the rule and the law”,Alban Bagbin emphatically stated.
