The 2024 elections are over 2 years away and yet candidates are popping up to represent the 2 biggest political parties in the country. For the opposition National Democratic Congress, they don’t have much of a problem as many anticipate John Mahama to lead the party despite Dr. Duffour showing interest. For the ruling New Patriotic Party there will be a heated contest as many candidates have shown interest.
The battle lines will be between 2 leading candidates out of the 5 who have expressed interest. Alan Kyerematen, Trade and Industry minister will come up against Vice President Bawumia in one of the keenly contested flagbearer contests ever. On Nhyira FM’s Kuroyi Munsem, today, Monday, January 24, 2022, Sammy Gyamfi was queried as to who John Mahama feels among Bawumia and Alan will be the easiest to beat in 2024.
According to Sammy Gyamfi both candidates are beatable because John Mahama is on fire. He noted that even the NPP know 2024 will be a no contest. He explained that among Bawumia and Alan, one has credibility and honor as against the other. When asked if he preferred Bawumia he said the NPP should bring him on because the Vice President has no credibility.
“Bawumia has no credibility. He keeps on lying and even kids know that. He promised bank accounts and a toilet for every Ghanaian and they ended up lies. The NPP should choose wisely. When I was in Unity Hall I admired Alan. He has credibility”
Sammy added that he has issues with Alan too because he has looked on and watched Akufo-Addo and Bawumia to destroy the economy. He was however quick to say that despite this Alan is an honorable man as compared to Bawumia. He charged and dared the NPP to bring on Bawumia because that will be their end in 2024.
