There are thousands of churches in the country. Each church has at least 50 members where they gather to worship their God. Most Churches do support their members to attain high profile in the society.
In today’s article, let us look at the church to produce most presidents in Ghana. Out of over thousand churches in the country, only five have produced all the Presidents in the country. Ghana has never had a Muslim President before.
The Assemblies of God
The Assemblies of God church has produced on President in Ghana’s history. He happens to immediate former president of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama. He was a member of this denomination.
Anglican
Anglican has had two presidents coming from their denomination. They include the incumbent president, Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo and Akwasi Afrifa.
Methodist Church Of Ghana
The methodist church of Ghana has produced three Presidents in Ghana. They include John Evans Fiifi Atta Mills, Kofi Abrefa Bussia and Joseph Ankrah.
Presbyterian Church of Ghana
The Presbyterian church of Ghana has the same number as that of the Methodist church. The Presidents from this popular church include Fred Akuffo, Edward Akuffo Addo and Nii Amaa Odennu. The current President was raised a Presbyterian by his father.
Roman CatholicÂ
Roman Catholic Church has produced the most presidents of Ghana. The church has produced five of Ghana’s president.
They include John Agyekum Kuffour, John Jerry Rawlings, Hilla Limann, Ignatius Kutu Acheampong and Dr. Kwame Nkrumah. However Dr. Kwame Nkrumah later left the church. It is now clear that the Roman Catholic Church is the only church to produce most presidents in Ghana.
