As they always say, second comings of coaches in football are worse, with enough case studies and examples to prove this point, but of course there are exceptions as well.
Relatably, the second coming of Milovan Rajevac, who led the Black Stars to their recent AFCON tournament has been nothing to write home about with their abysmal performance in Cameroon having rippling effect even days after their elimination from the tournament.
The poor performance of the team led to a group stage elimination after 2 losses to Morocco and Comoros and a draw with Gabon, leaving the Black Stars with just a point at the bottom of the group.
Upon the team’s silent return to the country, the Ministry of Youth and Sport had a crunch meeting with the GFA, and as it turned out, the Ministry with the backing of the Government headed by the President, wanted the coach gone, a position which the GFA was initially against, but subsequently, have given in to the sacking of the coach.
It may not be surprising to us, as this current government is tilted towards a local coach other than a foreign one for the head coach position of the Black Stars.
After 8 matches of being in charge of the Black Stars, the once adored Milo of Ghana, has been shown the way.
All the best to coach Milo in his future endeavors.
