Background
Ever since Zandile Mafe was revealed as the prime suspect of the fire at the parliament, there have been different people trying to find out whether or not he actually was present inside the Parliament or not. Initially it was said that the CCTV footage will not be revealed until the Hawks have finished the investigation but a police who chose not to be mentioned leaked information on what the CCTV contains within it. This footage now reveal the truth about Zandile Mafe.
Report
According to what this anonymous person who claims saw the footage, they say that indeed it was Zandile Mafe inside the Parliament. The person continues to say that Zandile Mafe spent more than a day inside the parliament. The person continues to describe what the police officers that were supposed to watch the cameras were doing. Below is what was reported by News24:
“Alleged Parliament arsonist Zandile Mafe spent nearly 30 hours inside the National Key Point, setting off dozens of alarms as he made his way through various parts of the building before setting fire to a pile of boxes nearly 26 hours after he first gained entry.”
Opinion
It is quite worrying that the police officers had the opportunity to actually stop this whole thing from happening. After they heard multiple alarms go off they still did not do anything. It is also said that after more than 24 hours of bring inside it was only then that he started a fire.
At this point the fault could be on the police officers. If indeed Zandile Mafe has a mental problem then it is safe to assume that he said the box is on fire just so he can keep himself warm. Of course this is not an official statement by the hogs but since to the source that watch the video it is safe to say that there is more to this story.
