The Director-General of the Ghana Police Service, ACP Kwesi Ofori has heaped praises on the driver of the truck that was involved in a massive explosion at Bogoso-Appiate in the Western Region of Ghana. According to the ACP, the driver was able to prevent a situation that would have been worse than the current situation after the explosion.
Yesterday, a massive explosion happened at the Bogoso-Appiate area where a driver of a car full of dynamite engaged in an unfortunate accident that resulted in a serious explosion. The explosion has ripped through almost the whole community of Bogoso-Appiate.
The Ghana Police Service went there today to ensure there is calm as well as protect the people in the area. Meanwhile, ACP Kwesi Ofori while speaking to journalists at the area said, the driver of the car should be well praised because he was able to prevent what would have been a big disaster than we are experiencing now at Bogoso-Appiate.
“The driver knowing what he was carrying, quickly ran to the school nearby before the explosion occurred to inform the school to move from the area. He also informed a lot of people nearby to move away because there is a huge danger coming. Most of these people the driver informed were able to move from there to a safer grounds and that is hugely commendable.” ACP Kwesi Ofori told the media at the scene today.
ACP Kwesi Ofori also added that the Police still consider the area that saw the explosion as a crime scene and so he hopes the media and everyone around respects that.
” Now, we still consider this area as a crime scene and we hope the media respects that.” ACP Kwesi Ofori said.
