Every human needs life for survival; babies, youth and aged. The moment you lose a quantum of blood you will be nearing death if not replaced. The sad incident that happened at Bogoso yesterday has really caught many people by surprise as we are still in the early stages of 2022. It has been recorded that some of the victims of the Gas Explosion were warned before hand, some were asked to run for their lives but they didn’t heed to that advise because they thought they were far from the accident scene.
Some got the courage to video the incident but ended up in their grave. Some have been hospitalised and are responding to treatment whiles others are in a very critical condition where much blood is needed for their survival. Unfortunately, blood banks do not have sufficient blood to take care of all the victims.
Yvonne Nelson, one of the great actresses in Ghana posted on her twitter page asking people to go donate blood in some hospitals in the Western Region to help safe lives. The post which read, “when disaster strikes, blood banks run dry”. Three hospitals were listed; Prestea Government Hospital, Tarkwa Municipal Hospital and Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital.
After Yvonne posted this, some Ghanaians began to react to it. Some were in support of the whole idea whiles others boycotted it. R. DIADO77 wrote, “why can’t you celebrities organise yourselves and go donate but decide to call on other citizens.”
Others also want to charge for the donating their blood. Some are willing but happens to be in different regions. In all let’s help whiles we can. Let’s help save lives by donating blood to those perishing for lack of blood. Read more:
