It is not a good day for residents of Kansaworado in the Western Region of Ghana. Families of the couple who were sadly killed together with their children in an accident whilst returning from a New Year service in Kumasi are currently in tears. Friends and other sympathizers cannot hold on to their tears after the funeral poster of the entire deceased family was posted.
Thirty-nine-year-old Paul Quarcoe is the head of the family. He traveled with his wife, Gladys Quarcoe who is also thirty-five years to Kumasi in the Ashanti Region. They picked their three children and a daughter of a family member for the 31st-night cross-over service.
The four children included fifteen-year-old Gifty Fynn, ten-year-old Maame Ahema, Eight-year-old Ekua Atta, and one and half-year-old Francis Kwarteng. Pictures of all the six family members have been printed on one funeral poster. The family hails from Bronyibima in the Central Region of Ghana but were staying in Kansawrodao in the Sekondi Takoradi Metropolis of the Western Region. Until their sad demise, the family was living happily as members of the Kansaworado Pentecost church but once a while, visits the Ashanti Region for spiritual direction.
A brother to the late Paul Quarcoe, Anthony Awortwe told Nhyiraba Paa Kwesi Simpson of Connect FM in an interview monitored by BeaNana that the entire family is currently in a state of shock. He says, his late brother has been able to raise a beautiful family and was in perfect financial shape to take care of all of them through education but death has ended everything.
The family head, Kwame Nyinfah indicated that they have dug six graves for the deceased family and all of them will be buried on the same day. He adds that the graves of the deceased parents are close to one another whilst that of the children follow in that order.
This is sad news for the entire family. In all, seven family members were involved in the deadly accident. One of them survived and has since been admitted to a hospital in Kumasi receiving medical attention. The prayer of the family is that he will survive the pain he is currently going through. However, the shock of him being informed about the sad demise of his siblings remains a huge challenge. He will need to go through a psychological examination to enable him to contain the sad news. May their souls rest in peace.
