AFCON is one of the most interesting cup matches in the world has it unites Africans and brings out the joy in African Football. Ghana and Gabon faced each other in one interesting duel. It was match that could have gone either ways but ended sadly in a draw.
The first screamer goal came from Dede Ayew at the 18th minute. It was a really out-of-the-box goal to give Ghana the lead early into the match. That brought joy to every Ghanaian watching the match until the 88th minute came.
It was the dreaded minute that changed the fate of the game completely. An equalizer from Gabon at the 88th minute brought tears to eyes of Ghanaians who were hoping to win the match. They were only able to get 1 point.
At the end of the match, Ghana got a red card after a fighting broke out on the pitch. That was Tetteh who was sent off. A Ghanaian tweeted that they have carried the fighting from Parliament to AFCON. It was just disappointing as the Black Stars were fighting on the pitch.
Looking at the way things are going, if Gabon wins or draws their next match then Ghana might have the trophy out of their sight. The trophy is clearly fading away and slipping out of their hands. Asamoah Gyan could not but weep at the draw. It was a sad defeat.
