5 surprising little-known lies propagated during Christmas:
Lie number 1: There were three wise men
The truth is that there were really wise men who visited the Child Jesus, but the lie is that the number wasn’t specified. We are just told that “wise men from the East came to Jerusalem” (Matthew 2:1). If you read the Gospel account, there was no specific mention that there were three wise men.
Lie number 2: The three wise men arrived at the manger
Another error where you can easily see in all places is that the wise men met Jesus in the manger. Yes, it is true that Jesus was born in a manger because of there is no more available room in the Inn (Luke 2:7).
However, when the wise men arrived, Jesus and His parents are already inside a house as what we can read in Matthew 2:11. Thus, the traditional nativity scene that we have been seeing is in complete error and it is an uninspired scene invented by someone canonized as a “saint”.
Lie number 3: Jesus was still an infant when the wise men arrived
Do you know that the wise men did not immediately arrive right after Jesus was born? The shepherds did, but the wise men did not. How did I know? Read Matthew 2:9 and you can see that Jesus here is referred as “young Child” and not an infant or a baby anymore.
Furthermore, as you can see, Herod ordered the murder of children who age from two years old and below (Matthew 2:18) giving us a clue that at least Jesus was already two years at that time.
Lie Number 4: Jesus was born in December 25
A careful examination of the Bible will show that Jesus was not born on December 25. The parents of Jesus went to Jerusalem to be registered for the census (Luke 2:1). It would be very irrational for the Roman government to perform the census when the roads are in bad shape and weather is defeating for travelers.
Lie number 5: Christmas is observed to honour Jesus.
It is an established truth that Christmas is rooted in paganism. Almost everything about Christmas is pagan which include Santa Claus, greeneries, mistletoe, flying reindeers, exchanging gifts, caroling, Christmas lights, and many others – all of which do not have anything to do with Christ’s birth. God commanded us not to worship Him through pagan practices and we can read that in Deuteronomy 12:29-32.
Can there be something wrong with Christmas? Is God happy when we celebrate a pagan holiday in His name? How dare are we to put Jesus Christ, the Living God and our Master into something pagan? These are just some of the lies being fed to us every year.
