An old woman who has probably stay in Europe before has shown a group of church members seriously praying early in the morning. According to this woman, it was 7:00 am in the morning but these group of Ghanaians were praying in church instead of going to work.
The woman said that this is the problem of Ghana because elsewhere in Europe, China, India, among others people are seriously going about their daily businesses. She stressed that not all the problems of the country can be attributed to inability of the government to solve but the attitude of the citizens.
The woman said, “There are farmers, fishermen, traders, students, etc among these people praying in the church who should have been at work by this time. People are waiting for them to provide goods and services but here they are praying. Families are depending on them to survive but instead of going to work, they are here praying for miracle”.
Some Ghanaians after coming across this said that what she is saying is true because most Ghanaians waste their time in praying, meanwhile the Bible says that a hand that doesn’t work shouldn’t eat.
The US-based Ghanaian journalist, Kelvin Taylor after coming across this post said that the problem is not about people praying at working hours but how wages and salaries are paid in the country. He sighted an example that a Ghanaian in USA can work for an hour and get money more than someone who work in Ghana for 24 hours.
