The National Communications Officer For The Opposition NDC has given what many call the best advise ever to all supporters of the great National Democratic Congress (NDC). In a viral video intercepted by CitizenOne, the young lawyer sent two important messages to the NDC supporters which when abided to will see the party forming the next Government.
The party is currently carrying out outreach programs in all constitituency with sitting MPs to re- energise the base of the party. This is one of a series of activities the party has outlined to prepare the base for branch elections which will then give birth to constitituency election, regional election and finally national election before national delegates congress. This is the time a lot of disunity, acrimony and personal attacks start. If not managed well, such divisions are carried into national elections and general elections.
To prevent such mistakes from occurring, Mr. Sammy Gyamfi encouraged all NDC supporters to desist from acrimonious support. According to him, everyone has the right to support any candidate of their choice, however, it is wrong for party communicators who get opportunity to speak on radio or TV to use that platform to run down an opponent. He said such platforms should be used to promote the agenda of the party and if possible run down the NPP government instead.
The second thing the communicator advised against is block support. He said anyone who contest for any position in the party should be welcomed by the party executives at regional, constitituency and branch levels without fear or favour. He advised against a situation whereby a particular constituency or group will declare their support for one candidate hence do to welcome others.
” When you treat your internal opponents like this and they win, your positions become useless to them. If they lose, it becomes difficult to bring them onboard” , Sammy Gyamfi added.
