27-year-old armed robber rapes his victim to death after robbing her

Kusi Linda, an asthmatic patient, has been confirmed dead after she was taken to the Asankragua Catholic Hospital last night. Linda was confirmed to have died from lack of oxygen and excessive-high breathing. Doctors believe her death is linked to how she was treated by Patrick Kafui, an armed robber. 

Patrick Kafui, 27, was at the Asankragua Moly Market at 7 o’clock yesterday evening when he spotted Linda counting her money. The money according to eyewitnesses was the sales from yesterday’s market. 

We always do this and has never had a problem with this. It is not only Linda who does that but most of us, if not all of us. Every market woman here will pull his blue blow and start counting her money after-sales. 

And it is with that, we know if we made a profit or made a loss. When you go home, you can’t get time to this, so you do it immediately after you close and that was exactly what Linda was doing after her market, Caroline Addai, the market queen of Asankragua Moly market stated after Linda’s death. 

Linda had pulled her sales bowl from her table and sat in front of her table counting her money when Patrick spotted her. Linda without knowledge of anyone tracing her, walked from the market to her house after the sales and that was how the robber saw her house, Kingsley Nketia, a neighbour of Linda said to the police. 

Linda was rescued at 11 PM last night when her neighbour Kingsley Nketia was coming home from a night shift. Kingsley, a taxi driver, was walking at the back of Linda’s room to his house when he heard the words ‘Please my inhaler, my inhaler, I am dying. Please help me. My inhaler’ 

I knew she was asthmatic and something may be happening to her. Her doors were locked so I called I few people when; Agya Asamoah and Kwame Ofosu to help break the door. A loud male voice shouted, ‘she is ok’ go home. 

We responded who are you, and he said he was the brother of Linda. I know Linda doesn’t have a brother because all her siblings are women, so we kept breaking the doors until we were able to rescue her. 

She had been robbed and raped when we found her. Her body was weak and seemed lifeless. She was very weak when Agya Asamoah brought his car for us to take her to the hospital, Kingsley Nketia said to the police at 2 o’clock this morning. 

Patrick Kafui, resting at the Asankragua police station, had sneaked into Linda’s room and robbed her of all her money. Patrick did not leave after the robbery and ended up raping Linda to her death. 

Linda’s body has been taken to the mortuary while Patrick has been charged with murder, home invasion and robbery.
