The recent circulating news that has undoubtedly sparked massive stir, debates and arguments across all social media platforms was when another appointee of the incumbent President, Nana Akufo Addo boldly defended the most anticipated 2022 budget containing the E-levy.
Even though most Ghanaians have expressed immense disappointment in the incumbent government over the introduction of E-levy, others agree otherwise whilst claiming that the policy would help generate enough revenue for the incumbent President, Nana Akufo Addo in ruling the country.
However, the largest opposition party in parliament led by the minority leader, Haruna Iddrissu have also taken the privilege to put all hands on deck in other to prevent the implementation of the most anticipated E-levy whilst the NPP MPs agree otherwise.
With respect to this, the Ashanti regional minister, Honorable Simon Osei Mensah was recently given the privilege to share his immense opinions and thoughts over the most anticipated issue but the unexpected happened.
According to the Ashanti regional minister, Honorable Simon Osei Mensah, Ghanaians should embrace the introduction of the E-levy policy by the incumbent government because it would help improve upon the economic growth of the country considering the adverse effect of the Covid19 pandemic in the coy country’s economy.
Surprisingly, Honorable Simon Osei Mensah later revealed that, Ghanaians are not poor to the extent of not being able to pay the taxes allocated for the E-levy since every citizen in the country could talk on their phones for more than 5 minutes irrespective of the charges they would have to pay to their respective telecommunication networks.
”You’re not poor if you talk on phone for 5 minutes”, Honorable Simon Osei Mensah emphatically stated.
