Two police officers have been accused of lazing around a robbery complaint that was filed at the Inchaban Police Station on November 27 2021. Names of the accused officers were given by the complainant and victim, Mr Samuel Nana Amoah, of the said robbery as; Twumasi, and Mr Ansah who is believed to be the officer-in-charge of the station.
Mr Samuel Nana Amoah mentioned that these officers had made no effort in pursuing his case despite some valuable information he provided after the incident. He laments the inaction of the Police to advance their investigations had caused him to doubt the credibility of the Police in protecting lives and properties in his community.
In a Facebook post tagged to Yayra Koku, Kwame A-Plus and Lawyer Francis Xavier Sosu, the victim of the robbery said he is bemused at the response from the Police even after he had personally tracked down one suspect of the robbery for them. According to Mr Amoah, he lost some personal belongings iPhone devices, laptop, woofers, rice cooker, internet router and cash of GHC5,400 in that heist but was able to track down one of the suspects through the stolen iPhones.
Mr Samuel Nana Amoah alleged that even after sharing his intelligence about the prime suspect with the Police, these officers had shown no interest to pursue it. He mentioned that the only response he gets when he follows up on his complaint is that they are busy.
He laments these Police Officers had by every measure acted unprofessionally and thus wish the Police Administration takes this matter up for investigation.
“Through my own effort, I have been able to locate one of the guys on the itemized bill and have informed the police but they are yet to act on this lead. All I wanted was for the police to put any effort into arresting this guy. This I think will help in arresting the other guys who were engaged in the act. The unfortunate thing is, when I make good leads and I call on the police officer in charge of the case, the response I always get is “I’m busy call my boss” which is quite sad and frustrating,” he wrote.
The responses to his post on Facebook had sparked some heated conversation about the conduct of officers at the Inchaban Police Station. It appears, this particular attitude has been meted out to a number of Ghanaians in the past. It is the prayer that the continued repost from these social media activists and other Ghanaians could provoke some responses from people of authority in the Ghana Police Service.
