The development that took place today after Ghana played Morroco isn’t too shocking for several factors.
Players were demoralized ahead of the Game. What demoralized them, the game against Algeria Demoralized them because they were yet to play another Arab nation, we can’t all be strong, the last time I checked blood groups that could withstand shocks, it was that of people with Blood group B, I don’t think all the players have that blood group.
Secondly, Morroco came to revenge over what happened in 2008, it can easily be forgotten by Ghanaians but not Morroco, a team that loses feels the pain just like we remember the game against Uruguay in 2010, they might have forgotten but we can’t, it’s same with Morroco when we sent them home. They came for a win whilst we thought of settling for a draw.
Thirdly, Ghanaian team is predictable, one can easily predict the line up and play style of the Black Stars, once Jordan is Inn or Dede Ayew, we are sure there will be seriousness in the game but not after 30 minutes, Jordan becomes tired and has to be replaced, he can’t keep playing for 90 minutes because we keep losing chances at his end. So I’ll urge the coach to play Jordan but to Substitute him early enough for the tempo of the game to change. Imagine if Jordan was substituted in the 60th Minute, all Morroco players would have returned to defend because the new player is unpredictable.
Lastly, Too much of Team work,to score goals on has to be unpredictable at times, there is the need to be a bit selfish for goals to come, I realised that even in the 18 yard people still distribute passes instead of shooting to score, the 18 yard box is where you should shoot the ball not where you should still be passing balls. Most Ghanaian players are scared to shoot balls, they keep passing the ball till their plan is discovered, we don’t play successful games that way. We were all happy when Paintsil shot the ball on target, he took it to himself to shoot, imagine if he attempted passing that ball, it could have ended up landing with a Morrocan player who would in the end run towards our post and that can result in foul against us if we try tackling severely during a counter attack.
Let’s shoot the balls please and stop the unnecessary passes at the 18 yard box, Wakaso(Ghana Vs Ethiopia), Atsu(Ghana Vs Guinea) Party(Ghana Vs Zimbabwe) were missed they understands this better.
Substitutions are important and it worked for the Morrocan coach Today, just a single substitution gave them 3 points.
