A CCTV footage that has made its way online showed a robbery in progress in a restaurant located in Rio in Brazil.
The surveillance footage shows the armed robber (in blue T-shirt) pointing a gun at the victim as he searched his pockets and surroundings for money and valuables. During the armed robber’s task of going through the victim’s pocket, some of the belongings fell to the floor.
The tables were turned on by the armed robber when he attempted to pick up the belongings of the restaurant staff. All that while, the staff was holding a rolling pin and was waiting for the right opportunity to use it.
When the robber bent over, the victim then hit the robber massively on the head with the rolling pin. This caused the robber severe instability as he found it hard to stay on his feet, thus falling several times. The victims of the robbery were able to seize the robber’s gun and drive him out of the restaurant by threatening to shoot him.
The victim was able to turn things around because he used purposeful compliance. When the gun was drawn on him, he complied with all the demands of the robber so that he won’t be shot. Once the robber got distracted was when the restaurant staff took action and turned the tables on the robber.
