Accra Hearts of Oak have confirmed the departure of midfielder, Emmanuel Nettey from the club.
The defending league champions in the past weeks lost two key players to contract issues. First to exit the club was experienced defender, Nuru Sulley who agreed to terminate his contract on mutual grounds. Nuru Sulley a little role in the club’s trophy haul last season where they won the treble – the league, FA Cup and an automatic Super Cup.
The former Tudu Mighty Jets defender had fallen down the pecking order following the rise of Robert Addo Sowah who has partnered well with Mohammed Alhassan. The head coach of Hearts of Oak also opted to use rising defender, James Sewornu ahead of Nuru Sulley when Addo Sowah got injured.
The next players to leave the club last year was midfielder Emmanuel Nettey and the club has written to confirm his departure. Emmanuel Nettey has since signed for Iraqi First Division club, Duhok Sporting Club. Reports have also emerged that Hearts of Oak are set to lose four key players in the coming months as their contracts are set to expire.
The players reportedly set to leave the club include Daniel Afriyie Barnieh, Caleb Amankwah, Isaac Mensah and Salifu Ibrahim. Reports have also emerged that, diminutive winger, Patrick Razak is set to leave the club after being left out of match day squads in many weeks.
