Accra Hearts of Oak former defender, Nuru Sulley is set to move on with a new club next season.
The former Tudu Mighty Jets central defender left Hearts of Oak after agreeing to terminate his contract. He had fallen down the pecking following the rich form of Robert Addo Sowah who has partnered well with Mohammed Alhassan in central defence. He saw his position further threatened when Hearts of Oak head coach, Samuel Boadu opted for young defender, James Sewornu ahead of him.Â
Having been dormant for over eight months, Nuru Sulley decides to write to the the millennium champions for a termination of contract which eventually materialized. Nuru Sulley was part of Hearts of Oak’s last season glory where the Phobians claimed treble – winning the league title, FA Cup and an automatic Super Cup.
He did not however play a major role which led to his exit. News in the Ghanaian media has it that the rugged defender is set to join Iraqi first division club, Duhok SC in the coming weeks. The Iraqi club have already acquired the services of former Hearts of Oak midfielder, Emmanuel Nettey last year. The move will be a perfect fetch for Nuru Sulley as he is almost at the twilight of his football career.
