Deputy President William Ruto has suprised Kenyans by penning a message to Raila Odinga on his birthday.
Raila Odinga turns 77 today and many Kenyans have wished him a happy birthday.
Due to the political rivalry between the two, Ruto wishing Raila a good day was not expected.
“Happy birthday Jakom. May you be blessed with many more,” read the message of Ruto’s social media page.
This is a clear message to Kenyans that the politics enemity has limits and is not permanent.
During Ruto’s 55th birthday on December, Raila did not send any public message to him.
Kenyans have applauded Ruto for shelving his political conflicts with Raila to send a message on his special day.
Below are some of the comments.
Mkurugenzi Rocky: This post is to remind Kenyans that politics is not a matter of life and death. Don’t kill yourselves because of these guys.
Kenyan Updates: The 5th wishing a 20 years leader of opposition a happy birthday.
Wilfred Ole: Hustler nation we wish Jakom a happy birthday. May he live to see Ruto’s swearing in.
Gerald Nyaga: Doyen whatever you have demonstrated is pure wisdom.
