Stars-Algeria Pre-AFCON Game Screens Today

MAX TV, widely acclaimed as Ghana’s leading “Sports, Entertainment and More” television network, will telecast the pre-AFCON friendly international between the Black Stars of Ghana and the Desert Warriors of Algeria.

The imposing Education City Sports Stadium at the heart of Doha in Qatar will host the match today at 4pm.

Viewers will be able to enjoy international standard match punditry from the Max TV studios in Accra with technical analysis supported by some of the very latest studio software.

The match will be first of many such internationals lined up by the iMax Media Group in line with its policy to bring top notch sports content including football and boxing to viewers.

Ghanaians are also expected to enjoy high quality in-studio broadcasting technology navigated by sports journalists, coaches and pundits

Billed as a North versus West Africa tussle, the fixture comes just days ahead of the tournament opener in Cameroon and a perfect opportunity for the two African giants to test their strengths and check their weaknesses ahead of the Sunday, January 9 kick off.

The Education City Stadium is located in Al Rayyan, Qatar and was built as a venue in time for the upcoming 2022 FIFA World Cup.

The stadium is located within several university campuses at Qatar Foundation’s Education City.

As part of the legacy plans of the FIFA World Cup in Qatar, the stadium will retain 25,000 seats for use by university athletic teams. The multi-purpose sports facility hosted its first official match on September 3, 2020 during the 2020-21 Qatar Stars League season.

Algeria is in excellent shape having won the FIFA Arab Cup in December. The double AfCON Champions are locked in Group E alongside Sierra Leone, Equatorial Guinea and Cote d’Ivoire.

In Group C, the Black Stars will open their campaign against Morocco on Monday, January  10, before taking on Gabon and Comoros.
