Covid-19 is still with us despite all the measures put in place by the government. In just a week, the number of active cases of this deadly pandemic has increased from 3,165 to 12,422 in Ghana. This happened during the Christmas festive season in Ghana. The government is urging all citizens to wear the nose mask at all times and also get vaccinated.
It has become necessary for all persons who have sim cards to visit any office of their service providers to do a biometric registration. This exercise must be done before April, 2022.
The current situation in all MTN offices in the country is very disappointing and also very bad. Several Ghanaians have lined up in a queue waiting for their turn to register. There have been a lot of reactions on social media and most people believe that, the telecommunication networks should open more branches in order to make this registration process smooth and easy.Â
There are no social distances to this effects and people mingle with each other without even ensuring social distancing.Â
If this situation is not checked, the number of active cases of Corona virus will increase again.
Agona East and West for example depend on only one MTN office in their constituency. There are other agents points in the constituencies but there is always a network problem. There is the need to decentralize this procedure so that people will not have to travel to only one place for this registration.
