    Oppong Prince, member of the communications team in the Ashanti Region said on Wontumi tv this evening that he fears NPP is about to commit same mistake they made in 2008 prior to elections.
    He explained that, in 2008 the New Patriotic Party(NPP) prior to the elections made a lot of changes in the party leadership which according to him led to them losing the seat to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) back then.
    Prince believes a similar mistake is about to happen if indeed they change “Wontumi “ as the party chairman in the Ashanti Region. Wontumi has helped the party to win power twice in a role and it will be a huge mistake to change him. His work goes beyond Ashanti Ragion he said.
    According to Prince changing Wontumi who is very much feared by the opposition party will be a huge blow to the NPP and at the same time a big advantage to the NDC since that is exactly what the NDC wish for.
    He further added that if the NPP avoid making similar mistake they made back in 2008 and maintain Wontumi as the Party Chairman for the Ashanti Region, they will surely win the next elections which will take place in 2024
