Nana Addo Is Living The Life Of An Arabian King

A political analyst, Mr. Jonathan Asante Otchere has decended heavily on the President of the republic HE Nana Akufo Addo for living a life style of an Arabian king. He said the president is living a if he knows he will die tomorrow. He was speaking in an interview on Accra FM on Tuesday monitored by CitizenOne when he made those comments.

Mr. Asante was reacting to comments by the vice president which sought to assure the public that the economy will bounce back in 2022.

It will be recalled that while addressing some Muslim leaders in Accra, Dr Bawumia assured that the NPP government will continue to strive to get the economy back on track from the shackles of COVID- 19.

” We are also committed to our inclusive governance of the past five years, which has seen us invest in education and other sectors of the country” , Dr. Bawumia stated.

But the political analyst disagreed that Ghana’ s economy can bounce back under NPP leadership because Nana Akuffo Addo is not living the life of a distress economy. He wondered how a president who expects his citizens to tighten their belts will be flying around the world with luxurious aircraft.

” We are in a country where the president will tell the citizens to tighten their belts yet he go about flying in rented luxurious aircraft. And the irony is the Government has refused to account to the people the cost of these expensive travels. This president is living the life of an Arabian king. As if he knows he will die tomorrow. How does such an economy bounce back? ” , he wondered.

Mr. Otchere maintained that the economy was destroyed way before covid- 19 came hence Covid- 19 cannot be a reason for the bad economy.

Dr. Bawumia was touted as the economic messiah. As running mate to Nana Addo in 2008, 2012 and 2016, he organised a lot of lectures to speak on the economy. The former deputy governor for Bank of Ghana made Ghanaians aware that the NDC Government was mismanaging the Economy. He promised an NPP Government will not borrow or impose taxes on Ghanaians.

In one of his lectures, Dr. Bawumia gave a simple solution to mobilisation of funds. He said, all the Government needed was to toll the major roads in Ghana and it will receive enough funding to build all the roads in Ghana.

But as we speak, the government has suspended road tolling even though the speaker of parliament has ordered a reversal of the said directive.
