“I Don’t Think A Lot Of Thought Went Into This SIM cards Re-registration Exercise” – Kwesi Pratt

The Managing Editor of the Insight Newspaper, Kwesi Pratt Junior, has indicated that he doesn’t believe a lot of thought went into the SIM cards re-registration currently ongoing in the country.

Kwesi Pratt made this statement on ‘Good Morning Africa’ on Pan Africa television this morning, 6th December 2022, when he gave his opinion on the long queues at SIM cards re-registration centers.

According to Kwesi Pratt, why would anybody or an institution at this level of covid-19 infections decides that people should congregate to do SIM card re-registration? It doesn’t make sense. 

Kwesi Pratt indicated that the re-registration of SIM cards simply doesn’t make sense, especially when the registration involves the use of the Ghana Card, which has the features of everybody who has registered.

“I’m using my Ghana card to re-register my SIM card. It has my finger print and every biometric information they need about me is there, why do I have to go and do it again? It’s simply doesn’t make sense.”

Kwesi Pratt stated that in other to avoid the spread of covid-19 infections in the country is enough a reason to stop this crazy business that is going on because it doesn’t help anybody.

“I think that we should have thought about this properly. I don’t think that a lot of thought went into this SIM card re-registration exercise, and the fear and panic it’s causing is unnecessary at this time. This should not be happening at this time when there are all kinds of stresses and so on.

Kwesi Pratt said that this SIM card re-registration exercise should be completely canceled because it is unnecessary. He suggested that the government should create the conditions for everybody to be on the Ghana card, and then they can use the biometric features on the Ghana card to do whatever they want.
