Gabriel Dame, a spare parts dealer in Nsawam has been detained by the Nsawam Police pending a transfer to Winneba Police station on Friday 7 January 2022. Gabriel arrested this morning, had in his possession, stolen car parts that belonged to one Henry Aggodia.

Henry, using the last GPS location recorded on his phone, informed the Winneba Police of his cars which were stolen on 16 June 2021 at Nyakuadze, a suburb of Winneba. The cars, which was been transported by a towing driver, was stopped at Nyakuadze at 1 AM on 16 June 2021 when the robbers made a halt stopping in front of the towing car carrying the two cars.

With knives, the robbers forced the driver of the towing car, Alhassan Mudden to offload the two cars for them. Alhassan was beaten and injected with a sleeping drug when he refused to obey the instructions of the robbers. Alhassan was found barely alive on 19 June 2021 after the robbers took the cars away on the 16 June 2021.

Alhassan was initially arrested after his discharge from Winneba Hospital but was set on bail when investigations confirmed his innocence in the case. Henry has since the 16 June 2021 the cars got missing, been looking everywhere for the cars until 3 January 2022, when one of the car engines came online for 3 seconds.

Someone may have started the engine for a few seconds, Henry said to the Winneba Police on 3 January. With the assistance of Nsawam Police, the spare parts to Henry’s two Toyota Corolla cars were traced to Gabriel Dame’s house. Gabriel who has denied knowing his spare parts were stolen goods, has denied speaking or commenting on the issue after he was arrested this morning at his car garage at Nsawam Pokukrom.

The seat, doors, engines and digital radios of Henry’s missing Toyota Corolla were all found at Gabriel’s car garage but the mechanic and auto spare parts dealer, Gabriel Dame has refused to explain where he got the car parts from. Officer Aning Felix, stated that Gabriel will be charged with three separate counts of crimes.

He is a culprit and will be charged with car theft, hijacking of two cars, and attempting to murder, the officer added. Gabriel is been charged with attempting to kill the towing truck driver, car theft and car hijacking. These three counts will put Gabriel in jail if he doesn’t talk and reveal where he got his spare parts from.
