Abdul Razak has indicated that the executive members of the union led by the President, King Awudu Ali has brought the name of the reputable teacher union into disrepute following several allegations leveled against him and some high rank members of the association not long ago.
The chairman has made his intentions about the President and the other national executive members public by joining other voices in the union to dismiss King Awudu Ali and also reinstate other members of the union who were wrongly suspended or dismissed.
Speaking to Joy news, Mr. Razak said, “the entire membership of CCT-Ghana Ashanti Region branch, fully and wholly support the recent press conference asking the National officers led by King Ali Awudu to step aside for an interim team to act for a while.”
He added, “We fully associate ourselves with the reasons given, and we give our blessings and support to the interim 7-member team tasked to steer the affairs of the Union going forward.”
The president of the teacher union, King Awudu Ali has been in the news in recent times reported to have been sacked for allegedly mismanaging a huge sum of money from the coffers of the association together with some national leaders.
It seems to me that all is not well with the third-largest teacher union (arguably) as there are divisions and disputes in the rank and file of the association. elders of the teacher union do not do what is necessary to restore peace and integrity in the association, some of us will not be surprised to see a drastic fall in the membership of the union to join other unions.
