If JM Is A Dead Goat Then The Leader Of Umuofia Is A Buried Dead Goat – Murtala Mohammed

Another year has begun and politicians have started heckling each other over policies of their various governments. Last year ended in a rather chaotic way as MPs got involved in fisticuffs over issues regarding the e-levy. Today, Wednesday, January 5, 2022 on TV3’s The Big issue, Murtala Mohammed, MP for Tamale Central debated with Kamal Deen, an NPP Deputy Communications Director over which government has performed better.

According to Murtala Mohammed the government of the day is not a listening one. He explained that already 3 institutions are on strike and more than 20 others also threatening to embark on strikes or demonstrations if their demands are not met. He noted that the government is full of sleeping appointees, something that emanates from their boss, the president.

Kamal Deen however didn’t take this lightly and wondered which government has showed signs of not listening to the people. According to Kamal, John Mahama referred to himself as a dead goat to show that he didn’t care about the plight of the people he was leading. He added that the Nana Addo led government has outperformed that of John Mahama in many ways.

This infuriated Murtala Mohammed who further explained that if Kamal chooses to call John Mahama a dead goat then the current president of Umuofia is a goat that has already been buried after his death. He opined that with the state of the economy, the only logical conclusion is that there is no leader at all. He chose to stand by his comments that the appointees of the president are sleeping or slumbering on the job and this has affected citizens.
