Black Stars Performance Raise Serious Concerns After Losing Heavily To Algeria

Black Stars of Ghana have lost by three unanswered goals to Algeria as part of preparations for Africa Cup of Nations. The outcome of the game raises serious concerns about the readiness of Black Stars to make impact in the continental showpiece. 

In the game, Black Stars made few attempts towards glory but could not put ball at the back of the net. Despite not scoring a goal, the team was not all that awful as the players gave some positive indications that could help them surge in the tournament. 

It is however worrying that Black Stars conceded those goals without being able to reply or even get a consolation. Does it mean the team is not better upfront? Does it tell the technical handlers that they need to step up their strategy especially those at the front lines? 

The result must serve as a wake up call to all who have direct roles to play for the Black Stars. Even though it is preparatory game, the outcome does not give hope and confidence with few days to kick off. Such an outcome cannot be entertained in the opening game on Monday, but if care is not exercised, the team could concede same number of goals as they will play Morocco. 

Going forward, Milovan Rajevac and his henchmen must as a matter of urgency and fact work assiduously on all departments of the game. From goalkeeping to the last person, there must be a proper way of fine tuning them to get the best out of those players. 

It is extremely worrying with the manner in which the team conceded and played as a unit. 

It serves better to look at all aspects because one area cannot be attributed the entire blame, hence the need to work on the whole team. 

It is feasible for Milovan Rajevac to fix those loopholes identified in today’s friendly game and ensure that players go under massive improvement before venturing into the main event.

The number of days left for the team to prepare must be used such that, a similar story is not encountered during the tournament. 

It is not over for the team to improve and make a huge stride in the tournament. Options have to be explored and get the right balance for the team as they aspire for success in the tournament. 

Black Stars must get things right if they want to come back to Ghana with the trophy. What was seen today cannot be given any serious consideration as a title winning side.
