On-air personality, Afia Pokuaa who is otherwise known as Vim Lady in the media circles is convinced that winner of the 2020 presidential elections will be decided at the court.

Vim Lady spoke with regards to the recent scuffle between the electoral commission and the political parties in the country, particularly the NDC. More than half of the political parties are reported to have kicked against the remake of a new voters register and the use of the Ghana card and passport as the only credential to be allowed to register.

The political parties believe the electoral commision is compromised by the sitting government hence their silence on the unusual method adopted by the electoral commission.

According to Vim Lady, the political parties, including the arch-rival, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) can come to a consensus on the remake of the voters’ register but confident that they’ll lean on the court for a further look into results should they lose. She made this submission on her “egyaso egyaso” program on Okay Fm.

Quote:

“If things get worse, the 2020 elections may now go to the Supreme Court for settlement. With what is going on with the NDC, you see that they boycotted IPAC meetings today, you saw what went on?

They issued a statement that they won’t attend the IPAC meeting and true to their word they boycotted. If care is not taken, a number of issues will come up for Supreme court to determine even before we go to the polls to elect our leaders.”
