V/R: NPP Women’s Wing donates food, PPE to orphanage on Mother’s Day

The Women’s wing of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Volta region has donated some items to Remar Christian Children Home in Ho to mark this year’s Mother’s Day celebration.

The items presented included bags of rice and water, together with some personal protective equipment; such as Veronica buckets, nose masks, hand sanitizers and toiletries for the children and their teachers towards the Covid-19 pandemic fight.

Presenting the items Volta Regional Women Organizer, Afi Adzagbo said, “though the day is meant to celebrate mothers, it is also a day meant to strengthen the bond between mothers and their children,” thus need to show love to the motherless in society.

She added also that the choice of Remar Orphanage is to show appreciation to the children for a number of intercessory prayers they have offered for her and the leadership of the party in the past.

“Two years ago, we came here for your prayers, so today being Mother’s Day, I have come here to celebrate with you, donate these items and have a fair idea of the challenges you face. I believe there are bigger donations to follow,” she noted

Expressing their gratitude, the school authorities pleaded on the team to extend their benevolence to providing them with ceiling fans and other logistics including tables and chairs for effective teaching and learning.

They indicated also that the facility needs mattresses, footwears and support towards the payment of utility bills.
