Medeama will seek to bounce back from their last week’s defeat against Dreams FC when they clash with Ashantigold at the Tarkwa Akoon Park on Saturday in the Ghana Premier League (GPL) fixture.

The Mauve and Yellow side have been phenomenal at home this season with their giant killing feat beating the two top traditional clubs in the country, Hearts and Kotoko, 3-0 and 1-0 respectively.

With Medeama coach, Samuel Boadu, eager to maintain their home invincibility, his target of walking home with the three maximum points will be the main motivation as he seek to inspire his charges to add the ‘Soccer Miners’ to his casualties.

Coach Boadu will be relieved as he will have the luxury of welcoming back central defender Ali Outtarra Issouf who missed last weekend’s fixture due to an injury as well as left back Philip Osei who is also expected back into the fold to face the ‘Soccer Miners’ on Saturday.

However, he will miss the services of Bright Enchill, Rashid Nortey, Eric Kwakwa and Ivorian import Kalibo Touissant remain sidelined as they are still recovering from their respective injuries.

For Ashgold this game will offer them the opportunity to recover from their shocking home loss to Berekum Chelsea last weekend and will be looking forward to making amends.

They are travelling to Tarkwa with the intentions to get back to winning ways by inflicting a second defeat on Medeama SC.

Ashgold are yet to lose away this term and have also not conceded in their two visits outside when they played King Faisal Babes and Legon Cities FC.

That fine away record is what Coach, Kasim Gökyildiz, will be looking forward to protect at the enemy’s territory at the very tricky Akoon Park in Tarkwa this weekend.

The Turkish trainer Kasim Gökyildiz will make his maiden appearance at the dugout of the team after he was cleared to having been presented with his work permit.

With that exciting news, the Turkish coach will hope to use this game to convince his employers about his readiness to lead the team to it glorious days again even without their marksman Shafiu Mumuni who is on his way out of the club.

Key midfielder Abdul Latif Anabila is suspended for Saturday’s game after being sent off in the last league fixture.

In the last six matches played between the two clubs, they hold equal records as both teams has won two matches, lost two and drawn two making this match dicey predicting the outcome

The home team sits third on the league log with 10 points after five matches, while the ‘Soccer Miners’ are one spot behind them with the same points but separated by goal difference.

The last counter between the two clubs resulted in a 1-0 win for Medeama.
