Mahama’s victory begins now – Isaac Odamtten

Accra, July 18, GNA – Former Tema
Metropolitan Chief Executive, Isaac Ashai Odamtten, has issued a battle cry to
rally members and supporters of the opposition National Democratic Congress
(NDC) across the country, for the party’s victory in 2020.

According to him, “former President Mahama’s
victory in 2020 starts now!”

The former MCE said this after submitting
his nomination forms to contest for the 2020 Parliamentary ticket of the NDC in
Tema East.

Surrounded by party faithful, Isaac Ashai
Odamtten reiterated to journalists on the sidelines of the submission, his
earlier declaration of a political jihad for former President Mahama, saying
that the work to achieve victory in 2020 had started as far as he was
concerned.

“The best way to defend is to attack; as
things stand right now, the current President’s performance in office has all
but delivered victory for former President Mahama, but that victory is not
secure until we go out there and take hold of it.

“As I have already promised, I am going to
lead the charge in Tema East here to ensure that that victory is secured and
this is exactly what is going to happen from now that the nomination forms are
submitted,” He said.

He added that, “we are hitting the ground
running, and we will run until John Mahama is sworn into office on January 7,
2021.”

Among the crowd of supporters was Mr.
Stephen Ashitey Adjei, alias Moshake, a firebrand party executive with a
reputation for plain-talking.

“Victory is assured for Mr Odamtten in this
primary, but that is not the most important target of course; what is important
is wrestling the seat from the NPP and this is why it is important that like he
said, we hit the ground running,” Moshake said.

According to him, Odamtten, who became the
frontrunner for the ticket after former MCE for Tema, Mr Kempes Ofosuware, had
decided not to run, is the NDC’s best foot forward.

“There is my brother, Edward Bediaku Kraku
also mounting a challenge even though the challenge is rather unnecessary one,
because it is obvious that Tema East NDC, this time, is resolved to present a
united front with Odamtten leading,” Moshake said.

Edward Nii Bediaku Tetteh Kraku, is a US
based NDC man who has contested twice for the Tema East Constituency ticket
without success.

“It is unfortunate to see that my brother is
likely to waste money again; I wish he would not waste his time, but it is
democracy and he is free to exercise his political rights,” Moshake said.

“The Bible, the Quran and many great
philosophers have made the point that, there is a law of karma, and what you
throw against the wall, will bounce back to you. Jesus and the Prophet
Mohammed, Confucious of China and Swami Prabhupada, have all admonished us to
do unto others what you want to be done onto you,” Moshake said.

He advised Edward Bediaku Kraku to be
careful about people surrounding and pushing him on to contest.
