COP Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah
In his first major shake-up of
the top hierarchy since assuming the leadership of the Ghana Police Service
(GPS), IGP James Oppong-Buanuh has replaced COP Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo Danquah as
Director General (DG) of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) with COP

Public Affairs Directorate to the Police Hospital as Administrator.
Until his movement to the CID,
COP Ken Yeboah was DG, Administration.
COP Tiwaa’s transfer to the
equally critical department of the law enforcement agency, Welfare, is an
action which her critics, in the wake of the mess surrounding the press
conference she hosted on the missing Takoradi girls, had demanded.
While some would speculate that
her movement is as a result of that issue, others think otherwise saying that
she is a capable superior officer who would make her mark in her new portfolio.
COP/Dr. George Akuffo Dampare
leaves his position as DG, Welfare, to take on the portfolio of Administration.

vacates his Director Generalship of the Motor Traffic and Transport Department
to take over management of Special Duties; his position now goes to COP

Services, has moved to head the ICT Directorate as COP Alphonse Adu Amankwah,
Eastern Regional Commander, heads for the headship of the PSO.
COP George Alex Mensah, DG
Operations, is now in charge of Services, and COP Francis Ebenezer Duku leaves
his current DG Special Services for Service Workshops.
DCOP Redeemer Vincent Dedjoe,
Regional Commander Western Region, is now head of PPSB, Headquarters, as DCOP
Elizabeth Appolonia Dassah leaves her current desk at the Police Headquarters
to head the Female Police Secretariat at the Police Headquarters.
DCOP Kwaku Boadu-Peprah, the
Ashanti Regional Commander, is now DG, Operations.
In a related development, the
IGP has moved DCOP Paul Kwame Ayittey from his position as the 2i/c Upper East
Region to Regional Commander, Oti Region.
DCOP Albert Nang-Baa Denkaabe,
Regional Commander North East Region, is now the Armourer General at the Police
Headquarters as DCOP Assibey Ahenkan, Oti Region, takes over Logistics at the
Police Headquarters.
DCOP Moses Asabagna Atibillah
MIU/R&P becomes 2i/c Northern Region as DCOP Felix Fosu-Agyemang 2i/c goes
to the Western Region as Regional Commander.
DCOP Ernest Owusu, 2i/c TR,
goes to Ashanti Region as Commander and DCOP Afful Boakye-Yiadom, 2i/c Eastern
Region, becoming the Regional Commander of Eastern Region.
DCOP Anderson Fosu-Ackah,
Central MTTD, Accra, is now 2i/c Tema Region and DCOP Charles Domanban, 2i/c
North East, taking over as the regional commander.
DCOP Victor Adusah-Poku,
