A man who spent money on drugs asked the police to test what he purchased because he believed he was ripped off.

49-year-old Douglas Peter Kelly of Florida called the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office to say that he asked the dealer for meth but he had a “bad reaction” after smoking it.

He told the police that he suspected he had been sold the wrong drug and wanted them to test it. He also said that he wanted to press charges against the person who sold him the drug, according to police.

Officers agreed to test the drug and told Kelly to come to the station. When he arrived with the drugs in his hands, Kelley was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine. His bond was set at $5,000.

The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office wrote about the incident on Facebook where they said: “In an effort to ensure the quality of the drug the suspect purchased, detectives told Kelly if he came to the sheriff’s office they could test the narcotic he purchased.

“If you believe you were sold bad drugs, we are offering a free service to test them for you. Remember, our detectives are always ready to assist anyone who believes they were misled in their illegal drug purchase.”
